TRAVEL HEALTH
People are travelling to foreign countries for pleasure and work more frequently. We offer a service to all our patients for assessment prior to travel to ensure they are covered with vaccines, which are available within the surgery when required.
An assessment form needs to be completed prior to arranging your appointment with the practice nurse. The assessment form is available via reception or on the website
An appointment should then be booked for 20 minutes with the practice nurse for up-to-date advice on vaccines, malaria treatment and general travel health advice.
We are able to administer many vaccines at the appointment time such as:
- Diphtheria
- Tetanus
- Polio
- Hepatitis A
- Typhoid
These vaccines are all at no charge to the patient. However other vaccines such as Rabies and Hepatitis B incur a fee,as does Malaria prophylaxis; up-to-date prices are available from Reception.
The last vaccine in the course should be given at least 4 weeks prior to travel to ensure cover. (As some courses include up-to 3 injections)
